Jakub Racek / Radek Vaňkát / Petr Vošta / Karel Waska
Jakub Racek: guitar, lead and harmony vocals. Award winning guitarist, 5 times voted "Guitar Player of The Year" by the Czech Bluegrass Association. In 1998 he was titled "Best European Bluegrass Guitarist" by American SPGMA . In 2004 J. R. was invited to teach at a guitar workshop in Louisville KY, USA together with Bryan Sutton and Tim Stafford. He studied jazz harmony at a course at the Prague Conservatory lectured by Luboš Andršt.
Radek Vaňkát: dobro, harmony and lead vocals. He has worked with many top Czech artists and has recorded in the Czech Republic and the US as well. Radek was voted "Dobro player of the year" twice by the Czech Bluegrass Association. Several years back he was invited to give dobro lessons at the New York University in Prague.
Petr Vošta: banjo, harmony and lead vocals. Petr has developed his own distinctive style - very groovy and "funky". Before joining P. D. he played with bands ranging from bluegrass to rock. He used to lead his own trio - Cimpr Campr. Apart from lead singing Petr lends his low-pitched voice to sing bass on four-part harmony songs.
Karel Waska: double bass and harmony vocal. Karel is a multigenre specialist. His musical talent spans from Chodsko folk music through classical music, Appalachian folk music and rock'n'roll to bebop and alternative jazz. Apart from studying bass at Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague, CZ, and Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, IL), his CV includes previous work with bands like: Jiří Králík's Rowdy Rascalls, Truman's Ridge (Chicago-style bluegrass) and the Ian Letts Have Sextet (jazz). After returning to the Czech Republic, Karel is keeping busy with the bands: Herswingboys of the sigstress Kateřina Steinerová (swing) and Thea & Her Comingout of the composer Tereza Staňková (blues & chanson). Karel joined P. D. in 2020.
